Your Ceremony Booking

We are following Public Health England's social distancing guidelines and have therefore taken the difficult but essential decision to limit the number of people at a marriage to the couple and a maximum of 6 guests (which must include witnesses) at Guildford and Leatherhead or a maximum of 4 guests at Weybridge.

Your Ceremony Choices
You have a choice of two Surrey ceremonies to choose from. These ceremonies cannot be altered or interchanged and we will not use scripts provided by anyone else. If you would like us to send you a copy of the ceremony scripts, please email registration.ceremonies@surreycc.gov.uk
Which ceremony would you like the Registrar to use? *
Vows
You need to choose which legal vows you would like to say to each other during your ceremony. You can find them listed in your marriage pack; alternatively please see the choice of legal wording page on the website.
Which declaratory vows have you chosen? *

Do you wish to write additional personal vows? *
Any additional personal vows must be solemn and dignified and short in length and must not contain any religious content. The registrar is not able to read these for you. Personal vows must be approved by the Superintendent Registrar prior to the ceremony. Please email personal vows to registration.ceremonies@surreycc.gov.uk at least 6 weeks before the ceremony. If the vows have not been approved before your wedding day, they cannot be included in your ceremony.
Are you exchanging rings? *
It will not be possible for the rings to be presented to the couple during the ceremony. Please ensure you have your rings with you.
Please note: Animals, birds, fish, insects and reptiles, including your own pets, are not allowed to be present or to take part in the ceremony (including gazebo ceremonies).
Witnesses
On the day of your ceremony, you must provide two witnesses who are able to speak and understand English. These may be relatives, friends or colleagues and they will be required to sign the marriage register. The Registration Service cannot provide witnesses for you.
If your witnesses change, please let the Registrar know on the day of your ceremony.
Music - must not have any religious content or have been written for a religious purpose
All music must be approved by the Superintendent Registrar prior to the marriage. If any music has not been approved before the ceremony day, it will not be included in your ceremony.

Further information for your ceremony
Are you having a photographer? *
Your photographer will be invited to enter the ceremony room at the end of the ceremony to take photos of you signing the legal documents.
The Registrar will make an announcement before the ceremony starts to let your guests know if you would be happy for them to take photographs during the ceremony.

The couple getting married must read and accept our ceremony Terms and Conditions . We wish your day to run as smoothly as possible, so we recommend that you pay particular attention to the contents section of the Terms and Conditions which explains what can be included in your celebration and the timings section which outlines what changes may become necessary to your ceremony if you arrive late.
